Bed Race Square will be the central hive of activity during the Great South West Bed Race and will feature an outdoor market with food stalls, local artisans, information booths, live music and free children's entertainment.

how to get here

It is easy to get to Bunbury, which is situated at the end of Forrest Highway and the beginning of Bussell Highway. 

Parking

Free 2 hour car parking is available on all CBD streets, Centrepoint Shopping Centre etc.

Road Closures

During the Grand Parade, Victoria Street, Blair Street, Clifton Street and Symmons Street will be not be closed, but rather marshalls will direct and manage traffic as required. Slight delays should be expected in this areas from 12pm.

During the Main Event, various roads around the CBD will be closed or access limited. Please keep an eye out for event marshalls and signage on the day.

Lost Children

The Lost Children Post will be positioned next to the stage at the Bed Race Square. This is your first point of contact for Lost and Found children. Another point of contact is the Police Station in the city centre.

Refreshments

Bed Race Square will be a hive of activity with food trucks and vendors available from 10am – 4.30pm for you to enjoy.

Live music will commence in Bed Race Square from 10am.

Bunbury CBD also has a great selection of lovely cafes, restaurants and pubs offering a range of refreshments for you to enjoy. However, it is always a good idea to bring water with you - especially if it is warm!

Where to watch

Know the course. Look at the map in advance so you understand what to expect on race day. The Finish Line is a must if you want to experience the expectation and excitement and see the beds in all their finery before the Parade. Victoria Street is a fantastic place to watch the Parade and listen to the music played by the marching bands.

Race watching - cheer the teams on at the start at Bicentennial Sqaure, give them your support as they race up Victoria St, around Marlston Drive, Ocean Drive, Wellington St and Symmons St.  To enable accessibility for all, the entire course is accessible by wheelchair.

 

Keep safe

It‘s important during the day to take note of The Bed Race Marshals; they are there for your safety and the safety of our teams.

DO NOT cross the race course or the path of the parade when The Race or The Parade are taking place. A Safety car will follow the last bed to indicate the end of the Parade.

Alcohol

We kindly request that people refrain from taking alcohol into Bed Race Square. The Great South West Bed Race is a family friendly fun event for all to enjoy - please help us to keep it that way.
